Artist Statement

My creative practice grows out of the domestic conditions, roles, rituals and materials I inhabit each day. I frequently use photography to capture vignettes I’ve created and/or encountered within and around my home. I further amplify themes and symbols of domesticity present in these vignettes through layering, pattern-making and digital exploration.

I believe that there is Domestic – the universal connection to and desire for home – and domestic – the ordinary backdrop of clutter and commitments, imprinting themselves indelibly within us. Both are critical to our survival – their messy intermingling is what interests me most.
